I have been slacking MAJORLY
Although I think about it everyday, I've completely given up working out and eating right. This doesn't mean I'm stopping forever, in fact I'm thinking of picking back up on it soon! The problem is I have very little self restraint when it comes to food, and I live in NYC where there is SUCH GOOD FOOD EVERYWHERE, such a variety of PURE DELICIOUSNESS and so accessible! ahhhhh...
Anyway, I'll try and eat in smaller portions, and also do some exercises to tone.
I plan on making an exercising schedule and I'm part of this program on Self.com called the Drop10 challenge, which is AWESOME. It gives you a daily meal plan to follow, as well as exercises you can try ALL FREE. And let's not forget to mention that the menu is full of delicious, flavorful food choices.

Today I,
Woke up at 12.
I wasn't hungry right away (yes quite surprising for me!)
Had a hard time picking out what I wanted to eat (and it's not because I didn't have anything in the fridge, i have many options AND grub hub is always available, it's just that for some reason I didn't have a craving for anything, and we all know cravings is how I live.
I finally decided I reaaaally wanted something sweet.
But NOT processed food sweet, or cake (not even cake! I know right! again surprising especially for me, I loveee cake!)
So I finally headed to the kitchen, looked over to the fruit bowl, my mom always keeps full (THANK GOD) and I fell in love at first sight with a Banana and a mango, and decided right then and there that was going to be my first meal of the day.
Here's why this is such a breakthrough for me,
One: I usually am not too attracted to fruits. I've grown close to loving them in the past months though, I reaaaaaally like them now. I never hated them, but back then, unless my mom was having one, or unless the fruit was already peeled, chopped and ready for consuming, I wouldn't even touch or look at it.
Two: I never saw fruits as fulfilling or that tasty, I really felt they were useless, and I always felt hungry after eating them.
Three: I never saw fruits as breakfast food, or even a meal. (Basically I didn't consider fruits food, ironic, i know.)
Anywho! today, I discovered that the combination of chopped creamy banana and juicy, sweet chopped mango is just heavenly, and my taste buds and stomach are more satisfied than ever! a year ago I NEVER would have imagined that I'd genuinely enjoy having fruit for a meal, over anything else!
If you are like I used to be and you can't touch fruit for the life of you, do what I did, introduce them into what you eat gradually. For me it wasn't too hard because my mom loves fruit and vegetables, which just comes naturally to her. So I always had them around. It did take time though, but for instance if I had a waffle for breakfast I'd add bits of mango or bananas on there, with some honey. Just little additions here and there, until my brain, body and taste buds got used to them and now look at that! I genuinely enjoy eating them...by themselves! (I never thought I'd see the day) Same goes for vegetables!
Also, the way to getting to love fruits and vegetables is to try a new one every now and then with your favorite meals, and then you get to decided which ones you like the most and least. The ones you like the most or even just a little bit, keep having em, and write em down so you remember which ones you like and Voila!
Alright my account of my fruit epiphany ends here.
I feel full, light on my feet and happy, but most importantly proud of myself because I knew I was craving something sweet and I got it, but I didn't get the bad repercussions on my body like I would've had with cake or other bad processed sweets.
Toodles!
